Tasman Tanks won the tender to supply two 10ML (mega litre) glass fused (GFS) potable water storage tanks for the upgraded water supply for the Macarthur region. The upgrade of the filtration plant is crucial as this plant is provides drinking water for over 250,000 people in the Camden, Campbelltown & Wollondilly areas. These tanks implement the use of glass fused (GFS) technology which is the optimal choice for potable water tanks of this size.
In the design process one of the major requirements was to design, engineer and install these tanks on an area that could be significantly impacted by mine subsidence. The foundations and the tank had to operate as one to ensure the projects' success.
